Requiem Light is a professional symphonic choir library designed for soundtrack, trailer and hybrid composition. With a full male/female ensemble choir and two soloists, it delivers an unmatched high energy, dynamic, bombastic fortissimo sound that can just as easily glide down to a fluid, soft and gentle pianissimo.
The 22-member divisi men’s and 23-member women’s sections each feature a variety of pure vowel sustains and slow Latin chromatic sustaining tempo-synching chants in mezzo-piano. The 45-member unison ensemble choir articulations include 3 types of multi-dynamic (piano to forte) true legato vowel sustains, a selection of fast tempo-synching chromatic Latin chants, a huge variety of powerful FFF Vowel and Latin staccato and sustaining marcato syllables. There are improvised chromatic Latin chanting sustains for both Tenor and Soprano soloists, with time-stretching and performance shaping features. You’ll also find a huge extended selection of ensemble choral effects, including whispers, shouts, clusters, demonic chants, sweeps, consonants, claps, snaps and more, along with a fantastic array of ethereal and lush atmospheric sound design pads, drones, soundscapes and ambiences hand-crafted from the choral sound.
Requiem Light was recorded at the massive cathedral hall at Saint Paul’s in San Francisco with award-winning conductor Robert Geary and members of Volti, The San Francisco Symphony Chorus and San Francisco Choral Society. The richly detailed voices cut through any mix and the lush and expansive resonance of our cathedral helps to weave the choir’s mighty sound seamlessly into your mix.
New to version 2.5:
This library was originally published by Tonehammer, but we’ve updated it extensively. For the heavily upgraded new version 2.5, we’ve added new tempo-synching and/or time-stretching functionality to all Latin chants (poly-sustains), soloists and choral effects presets, with the help of Kontakt 5’s new TM Pro engine. All sustaining articulations support 3-part polyphonic legato and you can use our offset, attack, release and other control systems to shape, blend and sculpt the choir to do your bidding.
Owners of this Powered-By-Kontakt Player version of Requiem Light can take advantage of Native Instruments’ great cross-grade deal on the full version of Kontakt 5 at a deep discount, which will allow you to load, play and customize any one of our 70+ unlocked open-format non-player instrument libraries. Requiem Light was recorded with 12 large diaphragm microphones arranged in matched pairs at various distances. We then carefully mixed and mastered the sound into a single well-balanced and potent stereo blend, with maximum of clarity, depth, power, tone and body right out of the box, no fuss, no muss. The stereo mix brings you a significant overall savings in system resource use and simply plug-and-play usability. Requiem Light is intended for users who want a professional choir library right at their fingertips, without the usual tradeoffs of disk space, cpu and memory use and complexity. It’s designed to excel, whether dropped into the most demanding orchestral scoring templates or loaded onto a laptop and taken on the road.
The library contains sustains and polyphonic true legato from piano to forte, covering 3 primary vowel sounds, six vowel sustaining variants with separate male and female patches and extended ranges, staccato with 2X round-robin, new and improved ultra forte sustaining marcato with releases, custom phrase-builder, latin chants recorded at different speeds across the entire interval of choir with playable real-time legato functionality, hundreds of choral effects including whispers, shouts, clusters, demonic chants, sweeps, consonants, claps, snaps and other effect types.
The included Convolution Reverb rack effect includes your choice of 74 different custom convolution reverb and FX impulse responses that we recorded in some of our favorite environments.
